Pretty good, no real complaints

I bought the 'Becoming a Short Story Writer' course a little while ago. It was easy to sign up and get started. The content was interesting, and I picked up a few new tricks. Everything went smoothly, no hitches or anything. Felt like a solid experience overall.

Loving my new course!

I just started the 'Becoming a Copywriter' course and I'm loving it! The lessons are so engaging and easy to understand. I'm already learning so much. I can't wait to finish and start using these skills. This was a fantastic decision!

Detailed feedback on my course

I decided to sign up for the 'Becoming an Editor' course after looking at a few options. The ordering process was straightforward on their website; it took me about 5 minutes to complete. I received a confirmation email almost instantly, which was good. Access to the course materials was immediate, which I appreciated. The content itself was very comprehensive, covering different editing styles and tools. I particularly liked the practical exercises; they helped solidify what I learned. I did reach out to their customer service once regarding a technical glitch with a video, and they resolved it within 24 hours. The pace was manageable, and I felt I gained a lot from it. I'd say it set good expectations for what professional editing entails.

Found a good deal, worth it

I was really trying to find an affordable way to learn a new skill, so I checked out Knowadays. I got the 'Becoming a Freelancer' course when they had a seasonal discount, which saved me a good chunk of money. The final price felt really fair for the amount of content provided. It covered everything I needed to know about starting out on my own. I definitely felt like I got my money's worth and then some. It was a smart purchase for someone on a budget.

Good course, slow support response

I purchased the 'Becoming a Proofreader' course a few weeks ago. The course material itself was well-structured and easy to follow, providing a solid foundation. I felt it was pretty good value for the price I paid. However, I had a question about one of the modules and sent an email to support, and it took about three days to get a response. Not a huge deal, but quicker service would be an improvement. Overall, a positive experience, but that one minor point stood out.

Consistent quality, returning student

This is my third course with Knowadays; I've previously completed 'Becoming a Proofreader' and 'Becoming an Editor'. This time, I went for the 'Becoming a Developmental Editor' course. The quality of the material is consistently high, just like my previous experiences. The layout and instructional style are familiar and effective, which makes it easy to jump into new topics. Access to the course was immediate after purchase, as always. They've maintained their standard, which is why I keep coming back for more training.

Does Knowadays ever do Black Friday sales? Trying to decide if I should wait to buy the bundle.

R Robert P. 2 weeks ago
Oh yeah, they totally do Black Friday deals. I got my bundle during their sale last year, saved a good chunk of change. Definitely worth waiting if you can.

Yeah, they usually have some pretty decent discounts around then, especially on the bigger bundles. Keep an eye out in November.

I'm looking at the Becoming a Proofreader course and the bundle with editing. Is it worth getting both or just starting with proofreading?

J Joseph 1 month ago
If you're serious about freelancing, the bundle is probably better long-term. Proofreading is good, but editing opens up more doors and higher pay generally. Plus, the bundle usually saves you money.

Depends on your goals. If you just want to dip your toes in, proofreading is fine. But I regret not getting the bundle initially; I ended up buying the editing course later anyway.

Does Knowadays have any kind of student discount? I'm still in college and trying to save some cash.

A Andrew L. 1 week ago
Pretty sure they do, yeah. I remember seeing something about it when I signed up. Check their FAQ or just shoot them a quick email.

Yeah, I used one! I think you usually have to verify your student status with some third-party service, but it worked fine for me.

How does Knowadays compare to something like Proofreading Academy? I've heard good things about both.

B Ben H. 3 weeks ago
I actually looked at both. Knowadays seemed a bit more comprehensive for getting into actual freelance work, especially with their connection to Proofed. Proofreading Academy is good too, but I felt Knowadays was a bit more hands-on for career launching.

From what I gathered, they're pretty similar in terms of quality. Knowadays has a stronger focus on the business side of freelancing though, which was a big plus for me.

Hey, wondering if anyone knows if these courses are actually good for getting freelance gigs? Or is it more for just learning stuff?

R Robert W. 1 month ago
Yeah, I finished the proofreading one a few months back. I actually landed a couple of small editing jobs through the platform they mention, Proofed. It's not a ton of work yet, but it's a start and definitely feels more legit than just having a certificate.

I think it depends on what you put into it. The content is solid, very practical. But you still have to hustle for clients after. It's not a magic bullet, but it gives you a good foundation.
